'South Africans must move on from finance minister reshuffles'
The ANC’s Zizi Kodwa says South Africans must realise that several issues are affecting the rand.
JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress (ANC) says the country must 'move on' from President Jacob Zuma's decision to appoint a new finance minister and then re-appoint former finance minister Pravin Gordhan.
Zuma then changed his mind and reappointed Gordhan as finance minister.
While the rand is still weak and is being affected by a number of global issues, economists are still raising concerns about how domestic issues can affect the strength of the rand.
The ANC's Zizi Kodwa says South Africans must realise that several issues are affecting the rand.
"I think that issue is water under the bridge now. We have a new minister of finance and I think if you understand the impact and how our rand, particularly economy is affected… We are part of a global village. We are affected by circumstances, not of our own making."
