JOHANNESBURG – The Mpumalanga Black Aces are on top of the PSL after beating Bidvest Wits 2-1 on Friday night at Bidvest Stadium.
With just ten minutes on the clock, Wits went ahead after Thulani Hlatswayo headed home from a Daine Klate free-kick.
Aces equalised minutes later when Collins Mbesuma scored in the 16th minute as the first half ended 1-1.
Wits almost went ahead at the start of the second half but James Keene was denied by the woodwork.
Then, with eight minutes left on the clock, Mbesuma scored his second past Moeneeb Josephs to hand Aces a 2-1 win.
The victory sees them leapfrog into first place with 30 points from 14 games, one clear of Wits in second place.
