CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Education Department says matriculants hoping to rewrite their final exams have until next week to register.

The process allows pupils who failed three subjects to register to rewrite two of them.

Qualifying candidates have until next Wednesday to submit their paperwork.

The department's Paddy Attwell said, "Candidates who qualify for supplementary exams still need a maximum of two subjects to pass. They can also apply if they need higher marks to study at a university, college, for special reasons such as medical reasons or because of a death in the family."
