Rapper Emtee slammed for 'tasteless tweet'

The rapper was slammed after he implied in a tweet that racism was not relevant.

CAPE TOWN - Several Twitter users have slammed Mthembeni Ndevu, or Emtee as he is known, for his comments on racism in South Africa.

Earlier this morning, the rapper posted a tweet that triggered angry responses from Twitter users.

It's understood Emtee, who deleted the tweet, posted it in response to discussions about Penny Sparrow.

Sparrow was heavily criticised after she referred to black people as monkeys on social media on Saturday.

TWITTERVERSE SLAMS EMTEE:

Emtee just needs to lay off the sensitive issues

An Emtee head always wanna heard .

I hope Emtee can rap in Afrikaans

Who's Emtee now ? 😕

When Emtee said the whole topic of race is a throw back pic.twitter.com/0cqdVQm71k

We just got rid of Cassper and the devil sneaked in Emtee 😭😭😭😭😭

I believe Emtee is the illegitimate son of #PennySparrow and Cassper Nyovest.

What Emtee is doing is no different to what minority racists do. Delegitimizing the effects of racism and apartheid. We won't stand 4 that

Emtee wants to be the old AKA so bad 😂
