Water collection initiative assists affected farmers
Brackenfell community members were urged to take water in containers to various collection points yesterday.
CAPE TOWN – Brackenfell residents outside Cape Town have started a water collection initiative to assist farmers affected by the current drought.
Community members were urged to take bottled water or tap water in containers to various collection points in the suburb yesterday.
The thousands of litres of water will now be distributed amongst farmers.
One woman, who made donations, says its heartbreaking to see how farmers, their employees and their animals are suffering.
“It’s just amazing to see how everyone is taking this very seriously and to see the community coming together. This is just an amazing initiative.”
