Amla and de Villiers at ease in the first session of Day 3
The cricketers have started soundly as they look to near England’s mammoth first innings total of 629.
CAPE TOWN - Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers have started soundly as they look to near England's mammoth first innings total of 629 with pair safely negotiating their way to lunch without any wickets fallings.
Amla walked into lunch on 91 and de Villiers on 56 with the score 199/2.
There have been one or two minor scares, most notably Anderson dropping Amla off the bowling of spinner Joe Root, but the pair have looked relatively comfortable on what is undoubtedly a batsman's wicket.
The deficit is still a sizeable 430, but with Amla and de Villiers at the crease, the home side will feel very confident about firstly avoiding the follow and then trying to get closer to England's total.
