EC police fraud saga: Another officer to be arrested soon
The Hawks arrested top cops Marinda Mills & Nicole Brown & charged them with corruption, forgery & fraud.
CAPE TOWN - The Hawks say they expect to arrest a third police officer soon after two high ranking officers in the Eastern Cape were charged with corruption, forgery and fraud.
Brigadier Marinda Mills and lieutenant Colonel Nicole Brown were both apprehended this month, following a lengthy investigation into police submitting fraudulent travel claims.
Both have been released on a warning and are expected to appear in court in February.
The Hawks' Hangwani Mulaudzi says they won't tolerate criminal activities within the police force.
“We have zero tolerance when it comes to corruption and hence we also want to send a strong message to not only junior officers, but senior managers as well to remind them that nobody is above the law.”
