JOHANNESBURG - Mamelodi Sundowns were expecting a tough encounter when they hosted Bidvest Wits in Pretoria and that's precisely what they got in a high-scoring affair.

Cuthberth Malajila started it all with a good finish after 20 minutes, Wits keeper Moneeb Josephs trying but unable to keep the strike out.

The Brazilians took the lead into the break, but Daine Klate was on hand to equalise in the 62nd minute, using his otherwise small stature to head in at that stage the game was anyone's to win, but Malajila again found the back of the net, to start a period in which Sundowns had the Clever Boys under severe pressure.

After his brace, Malajila was joined by Khama Billiat and Teko Modise on the scoresheet, while a late second from Klate only served to lessen the margin, Sundowns picking up their first three-pointer of the season with a 4-2 win.
