The premises has been cordoned off by police tape.
Officers have confirmed two men fled the scene about two-and-a-half hours ago.
When Eyewitness News arrived on scene, police officers were taking statements from staff.
The outlet's owner did not want to be interviewed.
Police say two men entered the store just after 10 am.
It's not yet clear how much jewellery was taken.
They fled the scene in a white BMW.
The vehicle was reported stolen in Kirstenhof earlier this month.
This is the latest in a spate of armed robberies at both jewellery and cellphone stores across the Peninsula in recent months.
Jewellery stores in Hout Bay, Somerset West, Franschhoek and Blue Route Mall have all been targeted.
