Fans of aeronautics amazed by Waterkloof airshow
The Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition was held at the Waterkloof Air Force Base.
PRETORIA - Thousands of aeronautical fanatics have been treated to a weekend of death-defying stunts and maneuvers at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition.
The two day event was held at the Waterkloof Air Force Base in Pretoria.
Launched in 1975, the event is held every two years in different parts of the country.
From Gripen Fighter Jets to BK11 sevens, the skies of Pretoria came alive as South Africa's best pilots pulled out all the stops to entertain the masses.
Both young and old were treated to the best in South African aeronautics, as well as an exhibition of the country's naval and army fleets.
These enthusiasts say they can't wait for the next show, expected to be held in 2016.
"It's been fantastic, especially for my kids. They've never seen this kind of thing before."
"Most probably the guys like me that have been flying for many years, it'll take you two days to properly go through (the event)."
