CAPE TOWN - The correctional services department in the Eastern Cape says the manhunt for three awaiting trial prisoners, who escaped while in custody, continues.

The inmates escaped from a Queenstown prison two weeks ago.

They were arrested last month in connection with a murder in Tsolo.

The department's provincial spokesman Zama Feni says, "We'd like to re-emphasise to the people in our neighbourhoods that they must not make any efforts to arrest to the escapees but instead alert the nearest police station."
