Soweto Beer Festival has arrived

The beer fest will take place in Soweto from 26 to 29 October.

The beer fest will take place from 26 to 29 October at Sharp Stadium, opposite Mofolo Park in Soweto.

JOHANNESBURG - Beer enthusiasts will be happy to know that the Soweto Beer Festival has arrived.

The annual event gives beer lovers the opportunity to taste more than 40 beer brands from around the world.

The beer tasting will be accompanied by typical Soweto cuisine including, pap and vleis, kota, and magwinya.

Festival organiser Godfrey Mautloa says the event will for the first time introduce a new type of beer.

"For the first time Soweto people will have an opportunity to taste and buy craft beer. Food such as sushi and kebabs will also be introduced for the first time."

Soweto's own beer, Soweto Gold Superior Lager, will be launched at the festival.

The beer festival will take place from 26 to 29 October at Sharp Stadium, opposite Mofolo Park in Soweto.

There will be entertainment by local developmental artists and DJs such as Ganyani and Blackmotion, Mautloa added.
