CAPE TOWN - South African pilot Laurie Kay died on Wednesday at the age of 67.
He famously piloted the jumbo jet over Ellis Park just before the Rugby World Cup final in 1995.
It is understood he suffered a heart attack.
South African National Parks (SANParks) spokesperson Ike Phaahla said Kay will be sorely missed.
“He was a larger than life character. He was a true patriot.”
