CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has secured Bafana Bafana's next big fixture, a World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic.

The city has budgeted R3.1 million and will recoup the money through ticket sales and hospitality suites.

The match will be played on March 23.

The city's Grant Pascoe says, “We are chuffed and honoured that Safa approached us early in January. They asked us if we would be interested in hosting a World Cup qualifier, which we said let’s first agree to the terms.”

Bafana last played at the Cape Town Stadium on January 8.

Norway won 1-0.

The next World Cup is in Brazil in 2014.
