Andrea van Wyk | 13 February 2013 JOHANNESBURG - Eyewitness News has learnt the CEO of Chrysler South Africa is in a critical condition in hospital, after he was shot during an armed robbery in Waterfall Park in Midrand. American citizen Trent Barcroft and his wife Cathy were on their way home from a shopping trip when robbers attacked them earlier this week. The United States embassy on Tuesday confirmed the incident. Chrysler South Africa said it appeared Barcroft and his wife were followed after they went shopping. A vehicle knocked them from behind, and when Barcroft got out to swap details with the other driver, he was shot in the stomach. Barcroft's watch, wallet and cellphone were taken, while Cathy was unharmed. The CEO is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit of Sunninghill Hospital, Johannesburg. In a statement, Chrysler SA said its CEO is expected to make a full recovery. Spokesperson Richard Sloman said operations at the company would not be affected
