NEW YORK - Jamie Foxx on Friday told Eyewitness News he was prepared to deal with any controversy after starring in Quentin Tarantino's latest movie.

The Oscar winning actor is in Django Unchained, which is released in South Africa today.

The movie has upset some for its violence and use of the N-word.

The actor said he knew what he was getting into.

“This is why our jobs can be exciting. We’re getting ready to do something that everybody’s going to be talking about.”

His co-star Kerry Washington said, “It was tough. We’d be texting one another in the middle of the night, not being able to sleep because of things we had to do the next day.” The film also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L Jackson.

The movies is also nominated for best picture at the Oscars.
