JOHANNESBURG - Vodacom Blackberry users were relieved that internet services were back online on Friday.

Some Blackberry users spent the greater part of Friday in frustration because they could not access the internet, blackberry messenger and WhatsaApp on their devices.

But the problem appeared to have been solved.

Vodacom spokesperson Richard Boorman said, “It appears that we got services back online.

“We are expecting a backlog and a lot of traffic before things get back to normal.”

The original cause of the problem was still unknown but the issue began in Europe.

It then spread to Africa and affected millions in the continent, as well as in the Middle East.

Vodacom has apologised for the inconvenience to its customers.
