JOHANNESBURG - Former 800m world champion Caster Semenya on Wednesday said she wants to reclaim her title and win gold at the next Olympics.
The athlete said she has tournaments lined up to help her achieve her ambitions.
“We’re heading to Moscow next July, so I’d like to achieve more out of that. Winning is important for us.”
Semenya said she would like to surpass Maria Mutola's achievements.
“We still have more world championships and Olympics to participate in. If I can participate in six Olympics, I’ll be a happy woman - just like my coach.”
Semenya came home with silver from the last Olympics in London.
Earlier in November, she was named South Africa’s Sportswoman of the Year.
