Village Main might retrench 960 workers
Village Main Reef said about 960 workers may be without jobs following unprotected wage protests.
JOHANNESBURG - Mining company Village Main Reef on Friday announced its intention to retrench nearly 960 employees at its Blyvoor Mine on the West Rand in Johannesburg.
The company said it lost up to R46 million since the unprotected three-week strike action started at its mine.
In October, workers ended their after the company issued them with an ultimatum.
