Concert victims in stable condition
One of the victims of the freak accident at Cape Town Stadium will undergo surgery later.
CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Health Department on Friday said six people, who were injured during a freak accident at Cape Town Stadium, remain in a stable condition in hospital.
Advertising scaffolding collapsed an hour before US rock band Linkin Park took the stage on Wednesday.
One woman died in hospital from her injuries.
Many of those who were hurt suffered serious fractures.
The department's Mark van der Heever said, "One female patient has been transferred from the Somerset Hospital to Groote Schuur Hospital as she requires further management to her spine injury. Another patient is scheduled for surgery later today."
Meanwhile, Lucozade has pulled out as the official sponsor of the Linkin Park tour.
The band will perform in Johannesburg on Saturday night.
Extra security and safety checks have been arranged for concert and the venue has been declared safe.
