McIntosh Polela suspended
Police spokesman McIntosh Polela has been suspended.
JOHANNESBURG - Police have on Thursday confirmed that controversial spokesman McIntosh Polela has been suspended.
His suspension allegedly relates to a comment he made on twitter about the sentencing of Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye, who was found guilty of murdering four teenagers during a street race.
The tweet read, "I trust Jub Jub supporters gave him a jar of Vaseline to take to prison".
Polela has apparently been accused of bringing the police's reputation into disrepute.
The police's Phuti Setati said, “Polela has been suspended, but this is an internal matter and we cannot share any more details."
