SOWETO - Musician Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala showed no emotion as magistrate Brian Nemavhidi found them guilty of murder, attempted murder, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and the illegal use of drugs.

Tuesday's proceedings had to be halted briefly, after a mother of one of the victims sobbed uncontrollably following the verdict, while another woman fainted.

Nemavhidi is expected to also announce when sentencing will take place.

Four schoolchildren were killed and two others seriously injured when the pair crashed their cars on 8 March 2010 on Mdlalose Street, Soweto.

Testimony heard in court revealed that cocaine and morphine were found in their urine samples which were taken shortly after the crash.
