CAPE TOWN - The Southern Kings have exclusively told EWN Sport that they have signed Lions hooker Bandise Maku, Argentina scrumhalf Nicoals Vergallo and utility back Hadleigh Parkes from the Auckland Blues.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by union president Cheeky Watson.

Springbok hooker Maku joins the exodus of players to leave the Lions.

Vergallo is currently a member of the Pumas squad playing in the Rugby Championship.

Parkes played for the Blues in this year's Super Rugby competition.

Speaking from Port Elizabeth, Watson said, "They bring wonderful experience. Bandise's played at the highest level and is coming back home.

“Vergallo, we've seen him play for Argentina so I think he'll add tremendous value to the Kings. And Hadleigh Parkes has played for the Blues, which will also add much value to the Kings."

The Kings will replace the Lions in next season’s Super Rugby competition.
