CAPE TOWN - Construction workers have made a grisly discovery inside one of the central business district’s most notorious block of flats.
A body has been found inside a chest freezer in a room in Senator Park.
Once plagued by crime and frequent police raids, the high-rise building is currently being renovated.
Len Lowings, from L&V Properties, says when tenants vacated the building several months ago the doors of all the rooms were welded shut to prevent squatters.
“The bars were removed this week. The workers went to the fifth floor and found a chest freezer with rotten meat inside. Police were called and they confirmed this afternoon that it was indeed a dead person.”
Police say they have opened a murder docket.
