Hunt counting on defence in MTN8 final

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt believes their solid defence will play a huge part in the MTN8 final.
JOHANNESBURG - SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt says their consistent defensive record could help them in the MTN8 final should it continue tonight.

They conceded one goal in four league games and also conceded one in three MTN8 games.

Hunt says defending is great but it takes goals to win games.

“As a team, we’ve done very well in that perspective. However, we need to be stronger. We’re trying to build the team from the defence.”

Hunt says his side will concentrate on its own game when it takes on Moroka Swallows in the MTN8 Final at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Hunt says the team wants to add to its trophy cabinet after winning the Nedbank Cup last season.

Hunt says he knows Swallows has been studying their game but he will not follow that route.

“I think South African teams worry too match about the opposition. I think that’s where the fault comes it. We’ll just focus on our game plan.”

The winner will walk away with R8 million.

The game kicks off at 8:15pm.
