Lelo Mzaca | 19 September 2012 JOHANESSBURG - Moroka Swallows striker Katlego Mashego on Tuesday said going into this weekend’s MTN8 final, the side is hungry to bag its first piece of silverware since the inception of Premier Soccer League (PSL) 18 years ago. Swallows will face SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium. The Soweto side came close to winning the Top-Eight tournament two seasons ago, but lost on penalties to Orlando Pirates in the final. Mashego said despite Swallows' great form under coach Zeca Marques, the team still has nothing to show for its recent performances and needs to change that this weekend. “It’s still early days, we haven’t achieved anything yet. We’d really like to win on Saturday.” Mashego said after the team missed out on two championships in the last two seasons, it could be third time lucky for them this weekend. “We want to achieve a lot as a team and I’m happy that I’m contributing to the success that we’ve had so far. Saturday is a big one for us. Lifting the trophy would mean a lot to the team.” Meanwhile, veteran striker Siyabonga Nomvethe is fit to play for Swallows following a toe injury. He was named in the Bafana Bafana squad to take on Brazil in the friendly international, but had to miss out due to the injury. The MTN8 winners will walk away with R8 million. Kickoff is 8:15pm.
