CAPE TOWN - The Springboks were handed a boost on Friday after tight-head prop Jannie du Plessis was declared fit to take his place in the starting line-up against the All Blacks.

The Boks will play against the All Black in the Rugby Championship on Saturday in Dunedin.

Du Plessis was named in the side on Wednesday but Pat Cilliers was put on standby as he struggled to recover from a hamstring injury.

The Lions prop himself had also suffered from an elbow injury.

The stadium roof will not be open on Saturday morning, meaning that conditions will be ideal, perhaps even playing into the hosts hands.

But Bok captain Jean de Villiers said they will not be changing their game plan which involves a significant amount of kicking.

“The conditions allow a bit of kicking, but funny enough, the All Blacks have also been kicking a lot lately.”

De Villiers said he enjoyed playing at Forsyth Barr while playing for the Stormers.

“Firstly, the stadium is great and it’s fantastic to play there. We had a good game when we played there for the Stormers and hopefully we can repeat that on [Saturday].”
