Police patrol Gold One mine after shooting

JOHANNESBURG - Police are patrolling the area around Gold One's Modder East mine to prevent any further violence in the area.
Four people were wounded in a confrontation between strikers and mine security on Monday.
One person is in a critical condition in hospital.
Police are yet to confirm exactly how the incident unfolded.
There is an uneasy calm inside the mine following the shooting.
Community members said there was a strike on Sunday, in which workers demanded higher wages and the reinstatement of dismissed employees.
Workers said they do not know what started Monday's violence.
On June 4, employees at the mine took part in a strike over working conditions and pay.
Many workers were reportedly dismissed by SMS on June 11.
