CT police crackdown on crime

CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police said on Sunday 415 people were arrested during a national crime prevention operation this weekend, in connection with rape, murder and the possession of illegal firearms and drugs.
Among those arrested are three men accused of murdering a man who was trying to sell his car in Khayelitsha on Friday.
The police's Frederick van Wyk said the men will appear at the Mitchell's Plein Magistrates Court on Monday.
Van Wyk said several maintenance defaulters have also been arrested.
"With the focus on women's month, an operation was launched by the South African Police Service.
"A total of 15 maintenance defaulters were arrested during this week."
