JOHANNESBURG - A suspected serial rapist is due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with the attacks of at least 10 women.

The 30-year-old man was arrested on Monday at his home in Ivory Park.

Thousands of Rands worth of watches, cellphones and jewellery were seized by police.

Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini said the suspect had been arrested before, but the previous case collapsed due to a lack of forensic evidence.

Dlamini said this time will be different.

“There are now 10 cases of rape against him. Police have made a breakthrough and we believe that he might be the serial rapist.”

Police suspect the man attacked women in Tembisa, Ivory Park, Norkem Park, Rabie Ridge, Olievenhoutbosch and Olifantsfontein.
