CAPE TOWN - Western Cape police are investigating the motive for a shooting in which a Mannenberg man was killed.

Police said unknown gunmen fired shots randomly into the family's home on Tuesday, after knocking on the front door.

The 45-year-old man was killed while his wife was wounded.

Police spokesperson November Filander said the pair were found by their 18-year-old son.

The father's body was found on the kitchen floor, while the mother was discovered in their bedroom.

Murder and attempted murder case dockets were opened, Filander added.

Arrests are yet to be made.
