PSL Welcomes GLT
The Premier Soccer League have welcomed Goal-line Technology.
JOHANNESBURG - The Premier Soccer League on Friday welcomed the introduction and approval of goal-line technology (GLT).
Football’s world governing body FIFA agreed to allow the introduction of GLT at a meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
This technology will assist referees make correct and better informed decisions.
The technology will be implemented during the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 World Cup.
The PSL said it will have to first study the regulation, conduct a cost analysis and wait for the announcement of companies who will be producing the technology.
A PSL issued statement read, “It is a good decision on the overall, and it marks another historical achievement in world football.”
