JOHANNESBURG - Mpumalanga police are searching for a man they believe could shed light into the killing of a five-month-old baby and his day-mother from Delmas.
Police are still looking for the child minder’s gardener Themba Mahlangu, said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Leonard Hlathi.
Margrietha de Goede and young Wiehan Botes were found strangled in her home in May.
Officers on Thursday arrested a third suspect accused of the two murders. He was apprehended in Springs, east of Johannesburg.
Ekhuruleni police found Fernando Marimtfe in possession of a cellphone believed to have belonged to the 66-year-old day-mother.
Marimtfe appeared briefly in the Delmas Magistrate's Court on Friday.
He will apply for bail on 27 June with the two other suspects accused of the same crimes, said Hlathi.
