Education funds are being squandered - UDM leader
UDM leader Bantu Holomisa said funds and resources meant for education are being misused by the ANC.
JOHANNESBURG - United Democratic Movement (UDM) leader Bantu Holomisa on Sunday said funds and resources meant for education are being misused by the ANC and its allies.
He said there is a high level of corruption in the country, where the ANC and its alliance partners - the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) and the South African Communist Party (SACP) - are "right-deep involved in State tenders."
Holomisa said youth month should be used to challenge government.
South Africa commemorated youth day on 16 June. On the same day in 1976, Soweto students took to the streets in protest of apartheid laws.
The UDM leader said South Africans should not allow government to rob them of their future.
"We have made a mistake by investing in one political party," he added.
