JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng ANC Youth League told Eyewitness News the suspension of its provincial secretary Ayanda Kasa-Ntsobi is not related to national politics or who she supported in the national league.

Eyewitness news understands that Kasa-Ntsobi's disciplinary hearing will begin on Tuesday.

The provincial league's acting secretary Nkhensani Kubayi confirmed the suspension, but said it was an internal matter and could not be discussed further.

Kubayi maintained the suspension had nothing to do with national politics or whether Kasa-Ntsobi supported expelled ANCYL leader Julius Malema when the province appeared to support Treasurer Pule Mabe.

The Gauteng ANCYL decided two months ago, to disband its Johannesburg region.
