Safa calls emergency meeting
Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane said he was not fazed by calls for him to step down.
JOHANNESBURG - Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane said he was not fazed by calls for him to step down from his post.
Many football followers have continued to vent their anger on radio stations and social media networks following Bafana’s 1-1 draw with Ethiopia on Sunday.
Many are calling for Mosimane to step down.
Mosimane said there was still hope for the team to qualify for Brazil.
“I don’t have to respond to what people say. It’s not up to me whether I stay or go. Pressure is there and it has always been there.”
Mosimane was appointed Bafana coach after the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
He has been under mounting pressure following a string of loses.
Meanwhile, the South African Football Association (Safa) has convened an emergency meeting in Johannesburg.
It has been widely speculated that they will announce their decision to axe Mosimane.
