CAPE TOWN - A Bonnievale woman on Tuesday said the alleged killer of her son should be kept in a place of safety, as he was not welcome in her community.
Francina Prins' six-year-old son, Franklin, was found murdered next to the Breede River, after he went missing on Friday.
He was last seen in the company of a 16-year old who appeared in court for the crime on Monday, and was remanded to a place of safety while the investigation continued.
Meanwhile, local councillor Errol Volenhoven said he attributed most of the blame for the incident to the dire conditions people in Bonnievale live in.
“Although this murder must be condemned, we are not condemning both sides.”
Prins said she at first did not suspect the 16-year-old when she confronted him after her son's disappearance.
