JOHANNESBURG - Firefighters on Monday morning extinguished the blaze that ripped through several stores at the Princess Crossing Shopping Centre in Roodepoort on the West Rand.
It is believed the fire started inside a Dis-Chem store.
Johannesburg Emergency Services' Robert Mulaudzi said firefighters were busy with damping down the scene.
“Our fire investigation team will move in to investigate what happened.”
Five stores including a family-owned linen shop and a Wimpy restaurant were affected.
No one was injured.
Firefighters battled with the blaze since the early hours of Monday morning before getting it under control.
