JOHANNESBURG - The Premier Soccer League (PSL) hosted their annual awards function on Sunday night.

Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvethe was the big winner of the night after he walked away with four awards.

Nomvethe bagged the coveted PSL Footballer of the Year Award, the Absa Premiership Player of the Season, Absa Premiership Players Player of the Season and the Absa Premiership Top Goal Scorer Awards.

The 34-year-old veteran player was the league's top goal scorer with 20 goals.

Nomvethe said at his age he never expected to scoop so many awards.

“It’s a big surprise, especially to win four awards. It shows that even at my age of 34, I have to still work hard and this is encouraging to many young players.”
