JOHANNESBURG – Suspended Crime Intelligence boss Richard Mdluli’s murder inquest will get underway in September.
He is accused of ordering the 1999 murder of Oupa Ramogibe, who was married to his former girlfriend.
Mdluli’s lawyer and other witnesses appeared at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday to finalise logistical matters.
Proceedings were merely procedural, with the clarification of payment details for lawyers.
Previously, Mdluli told the court that his request for state funding was declined by acting National Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Mdluli’s lawyer Ike Motloung appeared together with representatives for three of Mdluli’s co-accused.
The inquiry was set down for a month in September.
Mdluli claims the charges against him are politically motivated.
