Stormers lead the pack
The Stormers find themselves at the summit of the Super Rugby log, following another close win over.
CAPE TOWN - The Stormers find themselves at the summit of the super rugby log, following another close 19-13 win over the Waratahs at Newlands in Cape Town on Saturday night.
Tries by Joe Pietersen and Tiaan Liebenberg in the first half, set up the Stormers tenth win out of eleven games this season.
A lack of tries does not seem to bother coach, Allister Coetzee, who seems more than satisfied with the win.
“This is the nature of the competition,” he says.
Coetzee acknowledged that their second half display was mediocre, but the side showed character to register another win.
Stormers face the Sharks and Bulls away in the next fortnight and will surely look for maximum points to consolidate their spot at the top of the log.
Meanwhile, the Bulls were beaten by the Highlanders at Otago Regional Stadium in New Zealand.
The Sharks beat Cheetahs 34 - 20 at Free State Stadium.
