Orlando Pirates retained their ABSA Premiership title on Saturday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates retained their ABSA Premiership title on Saturday night at the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban when they beat Golden Arrows 4-2.
The Bucs came from 2-1 down to secure the win thanks to two late Benni McCarthy goals.
Pirates coach Augusto Palacios was impressed with his sides never say die attitude.
However, he refused to answer when asked if he was going to take over the job permanently.
He said he was happy with the win and would meet with management later in the week.
Pirates made history by being the first side in the PSL era to win a treble.
Meanwhile, title contenders Moroka Swallows beat Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium.
The late goal came from captain Lefa Tsutsulupa, but it was not enough to help them lift the trophy.
Supersport United finished third following their victory over Bloemfontein Celtics.
Mamelodi Sundowns finished fourth followed by Kaizer Chiefs.
