ILLOVO - Political analysts warned on Monday that Julius Malema’s immediate return to the leading party would be nothing short of a miracle.

Malema spoke at a National Press Club conference hosted at the Gordon Institute of Business Science in Illovo, Johannesburg.

Malema spoke out for the first time since the African National Congress’ (ANC) National Disciplinary Committee of Appeals (NDCA) upheld his discharge from the party.

Malema confirmed he would be back to lead the African National Congress, no matter what it takes.

“Even when I’m expelled from home, I am not going anywhere. I will stay and sleep here outside the gate of the African National Congress,” he verified.

Political analyst Samadoda Fikeni responded by saying that while Malema is likely to use whatever means he can to stay in the public domain, he is facing an uphill battle.

“He may come back later,” said Fikeni. “He is still a young person but the immediate return would be something short of a miracle.”

Malema also mentioned a wide range of topics including his tax issues.

Controversial police boss Richard Mdluli is a threat to national security, according to Malema.

“He must be released from his responsibilities - it’s a serious threat to state security. I don’t know why the leadership is so scared.”

Malema said Mdluli’s presence in the police will continue to breed fear and paranoia.

“When you greet on the phone, you first greet the person you are calling then you must greet Mdluli.”

He finally also praised political heavyweight Tokyo Sexwale and warned it would be dangerous to discount him as a challenger to Jacob Zuma.
