JOHANNESBURG - ANC Secretary-General Gwede Mantashe is expected to meet with the ANC Youth League (ANCYL)’s top leaders on Sunday.

Earlier this week, the League said it wants the meeting so it can demand the reinstatement of Julius Malema and suspended secretary general Sindiso Magaqa.

In April, the National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal (NDCA) upheld an earlier ruling to expel Malema from the party.

Magaqa was suspended from the League.

It is understood that Mantashe will meet with deputy ANCYL leader Ronald Lamola.

Earlier, Lamola said he wanted the pair to be reinstated.

But Mantashe said the issue was not on the agenda, but he would deal with the issue if necessary.

The ANC maintains that the Malema issue is finished as its appeals panel has spoken.
