Johannesburg - A well-known advocate has been found dead at his Pinetown home in KwaZulu-Natal.
Police said Mvuseni Ngubane was found with a gunshot wound to his head on Saturday afternoon.
Officials found a pistol and a suicide note next to his body.
Ngubane handled several high-profile cases in the province, including that of convicted drug dealer Sheryl Cwele, the wife of State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele.
Ngubane was a former president of the Black Lawyers' Association and chaired the Law Society of South Africa.
