CAPE TOWN - Police in Cape Town are investigating a car accident that killed seven people presumed to be related.

A Western Cape traffic department chief, Kenny Africa, said the accident happened on the R27, on Saturday evening.

The collision involved a light motor vehicle and truck.

It is alleged that the truck was turning right into a filling station, when the car hit its trailer. The car was apparently coming from the direction of Cape Town’s CBD, Africa said.

Of the seven people killed, four were children.
