Budget shortfall won't affect upgrades - Vadi
Transport MEC Ismail Vadi said he will use his budget to focus on upgrading major roads.
JOHANNESBURG – Gauteng Transport MEC Ismail Vadi said he will use the 2012/2013 budget to focus on upgrading major roads.
The department has received R4.5 billion, 30 percent less compared to 2011/2012 financial year.
The decrease is as a result of National Treasury ordering that additional funds be channeled to the Health Department.
Vadi said the shortfall will not affect road improvement plans.
He said officials will focus on the R82 between Johannesburg and Vereeneging and the R511 from Elandsfontein to Diepsloot.
