'Slimkat' backs Palacios
Moeneeb 'Slimkat' Josephs has backed Augusto Palacios to take over the Orlando Pirates coaching job.
JOHANNESBURG - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has backed Augusto Palacios to take over the coaching job at the club on a permanent basis.
Palacios took over from Julio Leal who parted ways with the club despite winning them two trophies this season.
The Peruvian needs to guide the Buccaneers to two successive wins later in May that will guarantee them the Absa Premiership title and the treble for the second consecutive year.
Joseph said Palacios has invigorated the club.
“He is fun guy. We enjoy our training sessions. He knows how to motivate us and the hunger to win is there. He makes you feel comfortable as a player.”
The Bucs are currently sitting on top of the PSL log.
However, the trophy could go either way as Moroka Swallows, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns are still in the running.
