JOHANNESBURG - A defence witness in the alleged street racing trial of Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala will return to the stand on Monday morning in the Protea Magistrate’s Court.
The pair are charged with murder and attempted murder, after they crashed their Mini Coopers in Soweto two years ago.
Four school pupils were killed and two teenage boys were seriously injured.
Witness, Mpumelelo Vezi, had previously testified that Tshabalala’s car was the one that had hit the group of Soweto school pupils.
Vezi was a passenger in Tshabalala’s vehicle at the time.
He told the court that Tshabalala was overtaking Maarohanye when a minibus came towards them causing Tshabalala to clip the musician’s car.
Maarohanye, who had taken the stand in his own defence, told the court that he did not kill any of the victims adding there was no blood on his car.
Tshabalala is yet to testify.
