JOHANNESBURG - Family and friends of police reservist Marc Ishlove are calling for the three killers convicted of his murder to be sent to jail for life.
The South Gauteng High Court heard sentencing arguments in the case on Friday and is due to deliver its ruling soon.
Ishlove was gunned down in a shootout in Northcliff last year, having served the police for over 30 years.
Family friend and ex-colleague Kevin Hacker said Ishlove was an inspirational leader.
He said despite the defence’s plea for mercy, the courts should set an example.
“The court ought to implement the prescribed minimum sentences at the very least.”
